Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts are opening the brand’s first new build on the West Coast, the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, in June 2017. Located adjacent to The Beverly Hilton on the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards in Beverly Hills, this 12-story, 170-room luxury hotel will join the legendary Waldorf Astoria portfolio of 24 hotels and resorts.
Owned by Alagem Capital Group and clients of Guggenheim Partners, this nine-acre property has been transformed into a one-of-a-kind hospitality destination with lush landscaped gardens, comprised of the new Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, The Beverly Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Residences in the future.
“This is an important next chapter in the history of this already famous property. Now with Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills, it will once again set a standard for others to follow,” said Beny Alagem, chairman, Alagem Capital Group. “Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills will be one of the most luxurious urban hotels in the country. From the world-class design to the exclusive services, every detail is designed to create an unprecedented hospitality experience that doesn’t exist today.”
Featuring a triple-height lobby with contemporary Art Deco design, it includes the signature Waldorf Astoria clock, hand-painted murals of Californian landscapes and custom made chandeliers. Each of the 170 guest rooms boast unparalleled views through the floor-to-ceiling windows which open out onto oversized private balconies. On the third level, spacious Villa Suites open out onto perfectly manicured private garden terraces.
The rooftop pool deck is the largest rooftop destination of its kind in Beverly Hills and includes VIP cabanas, lounge areas and a swimming pool for hotel guests. Including approximately 6,300 square feet of indoor meeting and special events space and state-of-the-art technology offerings, the Waldorf Astoria also has a ground-level outdoor dining terrace to make the most of Southern California’s desirable year-round climate.
Pierre-Yves Rochon Inc (PYR) of Paris and Chicago have brought their internationally recognized luxury hospitality environments to California for the first time in over a decade. Known for the interior designs of some of the most renowned luxury hotels in the world, PYR’s signature style is in every detail of the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills.
Blending legendary Hollywood glamour with the effortless luxury of the local lifestyle, the hotel features richly upholstered furniture, custom Strass crystal chandeliers and lacquered sycamore millwork, as well as Lalique installations and a significant curated art program throughout.
To create a cohesive architectural design inside and out, Gensler and PYR, joined by their parent company Perkins + Will, co-designed the exterior of Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. Curving white stone and intricate ornamentation signify the hotel’s clean, contemporary design which draws its inspiration from the rich history of California’s modern style.
Due to open in June 2017, reservations are now being taken on the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills website.
